I have known Carl since his first race. He was there in his beautifully
painted neon green, blue and yellow 323 GTX. Here was this man who was
learning the sport but he didn't care he was having a great time doing it. I
remember meeting him and commenting on his great looking car and recommending
some books to read that might help him drive better.

The Carl Story I wanted to tell was when I made several trips to his resort to
purchase his 323 GTX. I recall how all of the workers at the resort Genuinely
loved him. How many people can actually say they love their boss and really
mean it. Carl was that kind of man. He was truly 1 in a Million.

I got to know Carl at those meetings and if there is someone I would like to
model my life after it would his.

This small memory pales incomparison to the actuall feelings I have. Somehow I
think Carl will understand the way he always did.

PS I am really enjoying the memories that everyones else is sharing. It's
probably good therapy.
